About me
A picture of me (in the gray hoodie) when I was eight years old, buying materials to give away to the homeless.
Why did I start this organization?
Seven years ago, my dad took me into the city to pack what we called “homeless packs” to give out to the homeless in San Francisco. We bought water, Gatorade, energy bars, and ponchos, put them in bags, and walked around the city handing them out. All of the homeless were more than grateful to be receiving all these things, and It felt wonderful being able to help them. Still, I remember the sadness I felt after realizing how many people needed help and weren’t getting it. After that, I aspired to help as many people as possible, but I just didn’t know where to start. I had to wait a couple of years before I was able to join a community service organization, which was longer than I wanted to wait.
I started this organization because I want to give everyone the opportunity to help whomever they want, and be able to start at any age, with almost no restrictions on getting in—something my 8-year-old self would have dreamed of being able to join. I want to show people that It’s not hard to do good in the world, and I want to be able to give them a place to start.
What’s my Mission?
My mission is to give everyone the opportunity to join a community service organization to help people—without the struggles of waitlists, referrals, and age and gender restrictions.
